When Collin was murdered in November 2016, he was honored with a Portrait of Valor by Philadelphia Police forensic sketch artist Johnny Castro. The portrait featured Collin and his K-9 partner Wolverine. To commemorate the fifth anniversary of Collin’s murder, we commissioned this Portrait of Valor of Collin with his first K-9 partner Clyde. It was a fitting tribute given Clyde’s crossing of the rainbow bridge in June. Both dogs were on patrol with him the night Collin was mortally wounded.
In celebration of Collin's life, we’ve paired the portrait with a limited collectible challenge coin. It features the new Portrait of Valor on the one side while the back side displays Collin’s name, badge, shoulder patch and location on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
Sale proceeds will benefit Officer Castro’s Portrait of Valor campaign. He continues to honor fallen heroes and crime victims around the country with custom portraits to highlight their stories. Castro, a married father of two, does this on his own time and out of his pocket. These portraits are cherished by the survivors.
