Loren Courts memorial coin

This memorial coin pays tribute to Police Officer Loren Courts. The two inch metal coin features Courts’ image and end of watch date on the one side and his unit’s logo and his scout car number on the other side. This tribute coin was designed in partnership with El-Hefe Designs with the direct input of Courts’ family and his squad co-workers. Their involvement does not mean this is the official or authorized departmental coin.

Loren Courts was shot and killed while responding to a shooting call near the intersection of Joy Road and Marlowe Street at about 7:30 pm. on July 6, 2022.

When Officer Courts and his partner arrived on the scene, the subject immediately began shooting at them, striking Officer Courts. His partner rendered aid to him while another officer returned fire and killed the subject.

Officer Courts was transported to Sinai Grace Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds a short time later.

Officer Courts had served with the Police Department for five years and was assigned to the 2nd precinct. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter and parents. His father had retired from the Police Department.

Proceeds from the sale of this coin benefit the Courts family and are for them to use as they see fit. Thanks for your support of this fallen hero.
