Who We Are

The Officer Collin Rose Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our EIN is 82-1895687. Our IRS Letter of Determination can be viewed here. Our organization was created to ensure our fallen hero is never forgotten. Our hero is Collin Rose of the Wayne State University Police Department. He was killed in the line of duty on November 23, 2016.

He was a member of the department’s canine team. He was a participant in honor guard activities and regularly attended funerals and memorial for fallen public safety personnel. Officer Rose was a rider in the annual Police Unity Tour. He was passionate about canine safety and was an active volunteer with the Detroit Dog Rescue. He is survived by his parents, Karen and Randy Rose, brother Curtis Rose, fiancé Nikki Salgot, police dogs Clyde and Wolverine and other loving family and countless friends.

Accordingly we further Officer Rose's legacy by providing assistance in the following areas:

We also created and administer the Officer Collin Rose Memorial Foundation Scholarship. We administer the selection process and award the scholarship to the selected student(s) in support of their education.

We also created and administer the Collin Rose Memorial K-9 Safety Award. We administer the selection process and present the award to the selected recipient(s).
